Should I be concerned about a number i try to *69 that "can't be reached?"?
An unknown caller keeps calling my house and no one says anything when I answer, and they don't hang up,I just get silence. When i *69 the number, a voice tells me "the number you are trying to reach cannot be handled by the call return or call back features, please dial directly" should I be worried, or maybe call the police?
A-Best: It could also be an "auto dialer" that is reaching the wrong number. If you aren't receiving threats or being harassed in the middle of the night there isn't much than can be done. All "out of area" calls can not be retrieved with Last Call Return (*69). You can activate Anonymous Call Rejection by picking up your handset and dialing *77 if you have Caller ID or Last Call Return as a feature on your line.

A: if the number is blocked on CID it will also be blocked on *69
you can block people with private numbers by dialing *77
if the calls are harassing or threatening then you can place a trace on the last call that came in by dialing *57 but there may be fees associated with call trace, and the info will not be directly released to you, but used for law enforcement... you can call 1-877-trace-4-u for more info on call trace..
A: the number is probably blocked and that is why it is giving that recording. Nothing to worry about unless the caller is threatening, but more than likely a telemarketer.
